This skill is based on this video (click the image to watch), adapted for founders and their needs.

5 video types. 4 approval gates. 0 motion designers.

Founder Launch Motion is a Claude skill that turns your website or pitch deck into a short motion-graphics video.

It matters because video is now how people learn about products, and most early-stage teams have nobody to make one.

Below you'll find what's inside the skill, what you need to run it, and a step-by-step run from a website to a finished funding announcement.

A quick note before we start. This skill started as a Higgsfield skill for motion designers making launch videos for clients. We converted it and built it specifically for founders: it starts from your website or deck instead of a client brief, asks for your approval at every stage, covers the five videos a founder actually needs (not just the launch), works with screenshots when there's no Figma file, never puts an unconfirmed number on screen, and is built for LinkedIn and sound-off viewing.

The video in this post was a one-shot. We gave the skill a company we invented on the spot and nothing else: no references, no images, no brand assets, no extra polishing. Treat it as the floor, not the ceiling.

If you get creative and put in the time (look for reference videos you like, upload your own images, product shots and brand elements), you can get something far more fluid and far stronger than what you see here. This can look really, really good.

Version 2 of the skill will add a narrator and music. Subscribe so you get it the day it's out.

What the skill covers

The skill is a folder of seven files. One file, SKILL.md, holds the workflow: four stages, four approvals, the motion rules and a pre-render checklist. The other six are references Claude opens when it needs them: how to read your site, the brief template, scene structures for five video types, the storyboard format, three ways to show your product, and the specs for each channel.

The seven files inside the skill and what each one does.

The most important design decision: the skill never jumps straight to a video. It works in stages and stops after each one until you reply "approved". A brief or a storyboard takes a minute to fix. A rendered video doesn't.

Why you need it

Video is no longer optional. In Wyzowl's 2026 survey, 91% of businesses use video as a marketing tool, 93% of video marketers say it helped people understand their product, and 63% of people say a short video is their preferred way to learn about a product.

For a founder, the problem is timing, not willingness. Launch day, the round announcement and the quarterly investor update arrive fast, and an agency video takes weeks. Generic AI video tools are fast but garble text, ignore your brand and invent numbers. This skill sits in between: your exact colors, fonts and figures, in an afternoon, re-rendered in minutes when the numbers change.

1. What a Claude skill is, and how to install this one

A skill is a folder of instructions that Claude loads automatically when your request matches it. You don't call it by name. You ask for "a launch video from my website", and Claude opens the skill and follows it.

Skills work on Claude's Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, and in Claude Code. They need code execution turned on, because the skill writes and renders a real video project.

To install it:

  1. Go to Settings → Capabilities and turn on "Code execution and file creation" (called "Create and edit files" in the newer settings layout).

  2. Go to Customize → Skills, click "+", then "Create skill" → "Upload a skill".

  3. Upload the ZIP you download at the end of this post. The skill appears in your list, switched on.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an admin may need to enable code execution and skills in the organization settings first. If the skill appears greyed out, code execution is usually the reason.

→ Once it's installed, the whole interface is one sentence: "Here's our website, make us a funding announcement video for LinkedIn."

2. Why code beats AI video generators for founder videos

Most people assume an AI video generator is the fastest way to a launch video. For anything with your numbers and your UI on screen, it's the opposite.

The skill builds every video with Remotion, a framework created by Jonny Burger that turns React code into video: the browser is the canvas, and every frame is calculated from its frame number. It's proven at scale. Submagic uses Remotion to produce over 100,000 captioned videos a month, according to Burger.

What that means for you:

  • Your brand is exact. Hex colors, real fonts, your actual logo. Nothing "inspired by".

  • Text never garbles. A headline is typed, not generated.

  • Numbers are data. Every figure lives in one config file, so when your ARR changes next quarter, it's a one-line edit and a re-render.

  • Your UI stays sharp. Figma exports in SVG stay crisp even when the camera zooms into a button.

  • One project, every format. The same scenes re-lay out for 9:16 and 16:9 instead of being cropped.

One licensing detail before you start: Remotion is free for individuals and companies of up to 3 people. Larger companies need a Remotion Company License. The skill reminds you at the first stage.

3. What you need before you start

The checklist is short:

  • A Claude plan with code execution on, or Claude Code.

  • Your website URL or your pitch deck as a PDF.

  • Your logo, ideally as an SVG.

  • Product visuals, if the video shows the product: Figma SVG exports are best, screenshots at 2× resolution are fine, and with neither the skill rebuilds a simplified version of your UI in code.

  • The numbers you're allowed to show publicly.

  • Optional music. Pixabay Music is free for commercial videos with no attribution required (some tracks trigger YouTube Content ID claims, so check before posting there). Uppbeat has a free tier; Epidemic Sound and Artlist are paid subscriptions.

  • About an afternoon, split into four short review rounds.

→ The skill has one hard rule: no unconfirmed number ever reaches the screen. Investors will watch this video. Anything Claude can't source from your site or from you is marked [CONFIRM] and stays out of the render.

4. The 5 videos every founder ends up needing

The original Higgsfield skill only made product launch videos. In the founder version, we rebuilt it around the moments a founder actually has to communicate:

  • Launch (30 s): hook → the pain → the product in your real UI → the result → logo and CTA. For Product Hunt, your website hero and launch posts.

  • Funding announcement (20–25 s): the amount → why you exist → 2–3 traction numbers → who backed you → what's next, usually "we're hiring".

  • Traction or investor update (15–20 s): one milestone, one chart drawing itself, 2–3 supporting numbers. Made for monthly investor emails and milestone posts.

  • Feature drop (15 s): "New: [feature]" → the feature used once, end to end → "Live now".

  • Hiring (20 s): the mission → one proof point → open roles → careers link.

Each one is the same story underneath: hook, tension, proof, payoff. A good example of the hook rule is the funding video: it opens with the amount or the mission, never with the investor logos. Logos are proof, not the opening.

To show the full flow, we ran the skill on Fernbrook, a startup we made up for this post (the company, investors and numbers are all invented). Everything you see below is real output from the skill.
