Omnia raised a €3.5M pre-seed round without a pitch deck.

First page of Omnia's pre-seed memo

This is the two-page memo Daniel Espejo, formerly at Klarna, used to raise a round led by Visionaries Club, with KFund, Baobab Ventures and angels from ElevenLabs, Vanta and ThePower.

It matters because memos are becoming a real alternative to decks at pre-seed, and this one worked less than a year after the company started.

You'll learn how the memo is built, what it deliberately leaves out, and how much of it had come true twelve months later.

Below is the full breakdown, section by section.

1. Why Two Pages Beat Twenty Slides

A deck lets you hide a weak argument behind good design. A memo doesn't.

Omnia's story started small. According to the company, Daniel Espejo and his co-founder began with an idea and a couple of computers, and nine months later that idea, first written down as a two-page memo, had become a funded company.

The memo follows a strict sequence: context, problem, product today, product tomorrow, category, founder and use of funds. Each section answers the question the previous one raises. Why now? Because search is moving to AI. So what? Brands are blind. What do you have? A dashboard that already sells. Why is that big? Because it leads to agents that do the work.

It works for three practical reasons:

  • It can be read in five minutes, which is about the attention a partner gives a cold pitch.

  • It can be forwarded inside a fund without the founder in the room, and still make sense.

  • It forces causal logic. Every claim needs a “because”, and gaps are obvious to the writer before they're obvious to the investor.

→ A deck needs you in the room to explain it. A memo has to explain itself.
